    This chapter describes the basic habitats needs of all wildlife: food, water, shelter, and space.  It describes how different types of timber harvests create habitats for wildlife. You will learn which wildlife species favor young forests and which prefer more mature forests.  The chapter ends with an overview of wildlife damage management and opportunities to protect habitat for endangered and threatened species.
